I honestly believe that if McCain had acted and spoke like how he did during his concession speech last night . . during his entire campaign . . he would have probably won.

It's too bad he chose the wrong path . . for him, I mean.

It feels like a new world. A brand new day. Everything just feels better.

And I don't have to move to France. ;)

UNDATED - 11:04am

Everyone on Earth with blue eyes may have a single common ancestor.
According to LiveScience, scientists believe the phenomenon of blue eyes was the result of a mutation that occurred six-thousand to ten-thousand years ago.

last night's "conversation"

For the first time in about 25 years, I can honestly say I'm proud to be a Democrat. Last night was so wonderful to witness . . . and I give all credit to both Clinton and Obama for showing US respect and pulling off a decent and honorable debate. Yes, for the most part they're very close on many issues. However, there were enough points for them to hash out that it really made me clear on where their differences lie.

The Founding Father of my party was my hero - Thomas Jefferson. Finally, I think we have a shot at getting our image back to where it started. There's no one better than TJ . . . and it's about time the Democrats stop looking like a bunch of tree hugging, Birkenstock wearing, "consult your astrology chart for what to wear today," freaks that we've been labeled as being.

So, THANK YOU to both candidates. I appreciate that you respected ME enough to be civil towards each other to both present a decent front for the Democratic Party, and to unify us.

I'll be eating a lot of Wonka bars hoping for that "golden ticket." At this point, I don't care which one is President or Vice President . . . just put them both up at the top spots in our government and LET'S GET OUR COUNTRY BACK ON TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Taken from this TBO article.

1. A giant fossilized claw found from an ancient sea scorpion indicates that when alive, it would have been much taller than the average man. This find, from rocks 390 million years old, suggests that spiders, insects, crabs and similar creatures were much larger in the past than previously thought.

2. Skin cancer is 20 percent more common on the left side of the body.

3. Men who have only daughters have a higher risk of prostate cancer than men with at least one son, suggesting a chromosome defect.

4. Baking pizza dough at higher temperatures for longer periods enhances levels of antioxidants that researchers believe reduce a person's risk of developing cancer and heart disease.

5. Scientists have discovered dark chocolate contains more antioxidants than red wine.

6. People who are optimists do better in most avenues of life, whether it's work, school, sports or relationships. They get depressed less often than pessimists do, make more money and have happier marriages.

7. Scientists have figured out that a unique bacterium is what makes the sea smell like the sea. They've also found a way to capture the aroma and bottle it.

8. Minorities from low-income areas are at increased risk for having a leg amputated as a result of severe peripheral artery disease, or PAD, a type of atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, of the legs.

9. A survey of 25,000 Americans found that 62 percent said they do not eat any fruit on a typical day, and 25 percent said they do not eat vegetables. All told, 11 percent ate the recommended number of servings of fruits and vegetables, it found.

Statement from Mariane Pearl, March 16, 2007, 3:10 p.m. ET:

I clearly see Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s motives when he proudly volunteers a graphic description of the murder of my husband Daniel Pearl, whether he actually carried it out or not. Because I understand his intentions I can also deny their effect on me.

As Danny’s wife, the mother of our son and as a dedicated journalist and humanist, I have come to the conclusion that the only way to fight terrorism is to exercise self-control over the natural feelings of disgust and horror that his declarations provoke.

The more people like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed spread fear, the more determined I am to resist by celebrating values of humanism and dignity. This requires at least as much willpower as a terrorist’s determination to promote hatred. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will not change my heart and he won’t change what Danny did or left behind, which is a beautiful and inspiring example of what it means to be a man. I offer my heartfelt condolences to all the families involved.

You scored as Industrialist. Industrial Music grew out of the experimental German "noise" of the late 70's and early 80's with such bands as Throbbing Gristle and Einsturzende Neubauten leading the way. The strange "fusion of man and machine" is the basis for all Industrial music, which leads to a huge genre with such disparate bands as >1 (GTO), Frontline Assembly, Coil, Skinny Puppy, Das Ich, and Stromkern being lumped together in the same category.
